General Information
Welcome to the Institute for the Advancement of Self Psychology
(IASP) Website. IASP was established in 1994 to train professionals in
Psychoanalytic Theory and Technique with an emphasis on Contemporary
Self Psychology.
The Institute for the Advancement of Self Psychology offers a
training program in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis.
The program offers seminars and clinical supervision emphasizing
contemporary models of psychoanalytic theory and practice.
The program is designed for mental health professionals with
sufficient experience in the practice of individual psychotherapy who
are interested in developing their knowledge and skill in contemporary
psychoanalysis. Interested candidates from related disciplines will be
considered on an individual basis.
The program offers three levels of training:
- 2 year psychoanalytic psychotherapy training
- 4 year advanced psychoanalytic psychotherapy
- 4 year training program in psychoanalysis
Each level has three components: Personal psychoanalytic
psychotherapy or psychoanalysis, supervised psychotherapy/psychoanalysis
and weekly seminars.
The next two year program will start in September 2010.
